A Message from George Phillies: Candidate for the Nomination of President of the USA for the Libertarian Party

"Building an Effective Libertarian Party

To build an effective Libertarian Party, we need to do everything right.  We need strong local organization.  We need effective local candidates. We need libertarian affinity groups.  And we need an effective flagship race, because many Americans only pay attention to one political race for a few weeks every four years.

I'm running for President to move our party in all those directions.  I'm building a strong volunteer effort, with people and groups who will stay with us when the election is over.  I'm building local and affinity groups.  Most important, I am running on sensible issues that the American people actually care about: . Social Liberties. 3E: Education, Energy, and the Environment.  Stagnant wages.  On all those issues, the American people already lean in our direction. See my web pages http://phillies2008.com for more issues.

Political campaigns are not one-man shows.  The candidate does his part: He asks friends for their time and money--that's what I'm doing here.  He asks voters for their vote.  Most important, he tries to convert Americans into Libertarian supporters.  That's why I'm already advertising.

A lone candidate isn't going anywhere.  A successful campaign needs volunteers and money.

If you want an effective 2008 Presidential campaign for our Libertarian Party, you need to stand up and volunteer.  To volunteer, email the campaign at i-volunteer@phillies2008.com .

If you want our Libertarian Party to have an effective 2008 Presidential campaign, it is time to break out your check book.  Yes, I know many libertarians have become reluctant to donate to our campaigns.  For good reason.

I can't change the past.  I will do my best to make the future better.  I will work to ensure: When you run for office, your fellow libertarians will remember my good campaign, not what went before.

So how do I convince you that my campaign will spend its money well?   You may know the line 'I'll spend your money just like it was mine'. I'll make that promise literally true.  When I spend your money, I'll be spending mine at the same time.  I am offering my donors a one-to-two matching program.  For every two dollars you donate to my campaign, I will donate a new dollar of my own money to my campaign, covering up to $50,000 of your donations with $25,000 of my own.

To donate: http://www.phillies2008.com and click on "donate", or send your check to Phillies 2008, c/o Carol McMahon, Treasurer, POB 29, Monson MA 01057.
